CARP, ON: Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum will hold its next Cold War Cinema screening Tuesday, May 20th at 7:00 p.m. The museum is proud to present a film from the other side of the former Iron Curtain as part of its efforts to reach out to Ottawa’s ex-Eastern Bloc communities and forge new cultural links across old Cold War divides.

This month’s film will be 12:08 East of Bucharest (Original title: A fost sau n-a fost? Romanian with English subtitles), an award-winning2006 production. The film tells the story of a group of Romanians as they recall the dramatic events of the 1989 revolution that toppled Communism.

All are welcome to this event, which will take place sixty feet underground in the museum’s cafeteria. Light refreshments and snacks will be available. The cost for the movie is $6 per person. A museum tour will start at 6:00 pm. The tour and the movie are jointly available at the price of $15 per person.
